Decision-Making Process

Decision-Making Process

At the July Steering Committee meeting, after a recommendation was agreed upon, there was an extensive discussion about the decision-making process to be used to bring the common suite review to its conclusion. The Committee considered the pros and cons of three potential decision-making processes:

  • decision by authority,
  • decision by a yes/no vote, and
  • decision by consensus.

It was decided that a decision by consensus process would be used. Accordingly, an electronic ballot, which allows partner libraries to express their support for the reconfigured common suite using gradient responses, will be provided to All Partner Libraries in mid to late October.

The Steering Committee will review the results of the survey after its closing and report back to Partner Libraries.
